Together, Dan and Gwen Slade have been serving the Lord in Ukraine, and across the globe, for over 40 years.
Dan met Gwen at Prairie Bible College, and they tied the knot after graduating in 1983. Both of them felt a strong calling to serve as missionaries, initially planning to go to France. However, in 1989, God made his own plans clear with a powerful dream where Danβs Ukrainian grandfather laid hands on him and prayed for him. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1992, Dan began making short ministry trips to Ukraine and Russia. Witnessing a profound spiritual revival, they relocated with their five children to the suburbs of Kyiv in May 1994.
In 1998, a Holy Spirit encounter at a youth camp birthed Catch the Fire Eastern Europe. Dan now splits his time between CTF World and Slade Ministries, focusing on Ukraine and the former Soviet Union.
Today Ukraine faces a devastating war where, despite adversity, church leaders show remarkable courage. Your financial support can help us to sustain their communities during this turbulent time.
The War in Ukraine
We have visited Ukraine five times during the war and have been astounded by the perseverance and courage which our church leaders are maintaining in the midst of air raid sirens, bombs, missiles, drones and an existential threat to the country.
Our churches there have suffered and four have had to close because of the war. Our remaining churches have become refugees centres for those fleeing harm. Many church members have moved to Western Europe or North America for safety.
We are still in a very fluid situation. Our main objective now is to help keep encouragement and provision flowing to our pastors, in a situation where the economy has been shattered.
Please consider partnering with us to help us provide humanitarian aid and spiritual support to our Ukrainian brothers and sisters by giving a generous financial gift during this severely challenging time.
βFor you have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a shade from the heat. For the blast of the terrible ones is a storm against the wall."
